"For more than a quarter of a century, I have been occupied as a Delaware Criminal Trial Attorney. The majority of my activities as a criminal trial attorney occur in Wilmington, Delaware.   Trying to define the essence of a criminal trial attorney is not easy. It begins in the office with the interviewing of a client and witnesses. It continues in the office with the implementation of legal research. I estimate for a major trial that there is a ratio of three hours in terms of out-of-court preparation for every one hour of trial activity.   Typically when I am in trial, appointments are not scheduled at the conclusion of the trial day, which ends at approximately 5:00 pm. There is a necessity of organizating and recording, in a logical format, the events of the trial day. Ther is the necessity of preparing the speaking, two or three hours after the door to the Courthouse has closed." -Joe Hurley
